Balfour Beatty's 2020 vision is that wherever we are operating in the world, sustainability is embedded into everything we do and we are recognised as sustainability leaders.
All operating companies across the globe have now received their 2020 vision and roadmap launch presentation from myself and Jonathan Garrett, Group Head of Environment. With the launch presentations complete and operating companies' action plans to achieve the 2020 sustainability vision reviewed, we have now reached the even more exciting implementation stage - 'turning our vision into reality.'
In this, our third newsletter, I want to share with you what the Group is doing to support businesses in delivering the vision and some of our success stories on sustainability from around the world.
We have made real progress over the last year. I hope that the examples of good practice stimulate your imagination and new ideas to encourage you all to think more sustainably in your work.
It is also time to say thank you to the original members of the Sustainability Working Group: Nicola Williams, Martin Jolly, Martin Gettings, Kevin Donegan, Matt Flood and Tim Sharp. They delivered a world-class vision and roadmap. A new Sustainability Working Group is now in place to take us on the next step of our journey moving from collective responsibility to collective delivery.
